I revised the standard recipe a bit (elderberries, ginger root, cinnamon & cloves) to include elder flowers as well, which can be helpful against fever, colds, flu and inflammation. This batch is made with raw, local honey and fresh ginger root. The only preservative in the syrup is the honey, so store in fridge for longer shelf life. You may also add a touch of high-quality brandy for additional health benefits and preservative qualities. I have elderberry syrup kits available if you’d like to keep it in your cupboard to make yourself as needed.

This sunscreen provides the needed protection against UVA and UVB sun rays without harsh chemicals, while keeping your skin lubricated and moisturized at the same time. Goes on slightly white, but body heat and sun will melt it into your skin quickly. The non-nano, uncoated zinc oxide, as well as some of the protection values in the oils, will give this sunscreen an SPF of at least 20, and likely higher. Peppermint oil has the added benefit of repelling insects.
