Once I feel that nip in the air, I know it is time to simmer down some elderberry syrup to support my immune system. I’ve added ginger, cinnamon, clove and honey for a tasty, healthy syrup. Hopefully, next year, the elderberry bushes I planted will produce some berries for me to make a batch with fresh, rather than dried, elderberries. Love using products off our own land!
The birds beat me to the wild cherries this year, so there’ll be no Elder-Cherry cough syrup this season. I’ll have to be a little quicker on the draw next year!
