Fountain of Youth?

I have been experimenting for many months with face creams.  Eventually, I discovered I can’t do coconut oil.  Apparently I am among those of who coconut oil actually DRIES the skin.  Sad but true.  (Although it seems to be great for my teeth and gums!)  Not sure if that is an allergy or what, but I know I need to avoid it or I’ll have dry, cracked hands and skin.  So this is my first attempt with Babassu Oil, which I am combining with several other oils research tells me are great for aging/dry skin and wrinkles. Just finished this batch and I am loving how it feels on my skin!

Bone Broth!

Two turkeys, totaling about 36 pounds – and we used pretty much every part of them!  Twelve for Thanksgiving dinner.  Then leftovers for six the next day.  Then had turkey and noodles and sandwiches for a couple days, and still have some left for creamed turkey over rice tonight!  Made some homemade dog food, scrappy stuff and skins to the chickens….  (I know, it doesn’t seem right, but they loved it, and at least it wasn’t chicken!)  I then slow cooked all the bones for a day and a half for some wonderful, gut-healing, health promoting bone broth.  Even canned six quarts of it besides what I have in the fridge.  What’s left of the bones have been buried in the garden to compost.  I’d say we got every penny out of the approximate $26 I spent!  Hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving with those you love.
